Hi, My name is Lou DiCola. I'm The Self Defense Guy.

I've been a resident of metro Phoenix since 1986.  My wife, Sylvia Danese DiCola, and I are owner/operators of Danese Creations, on Indian School Rd. in Phoenix.  Sylvia's been in business in Arizona continuously since 1971.

Up until 2005, our business was exclusively custom clothes designing, tailoring, alterations, bridal and fabrics, and if you ever need any help with those items, you can reach us at either the phone number or the e-mail address above.

But for 2006, we decided to branch out into self defense and surveillance products--stun guns, pepper sprays, nanny cams, hidden cameras, all the products you can find above and below.  Why did we do that?  It does seem like an odd combination at first.  The majority--maybe 65%--of our customers are women, and whenever they would come in talking about the latest current events and crime stories, we found out that most of  them felt the need to own some type of self defense product but did not feel comfortable going to the traditional places to find them, like gun shops and pawn shops.

Some of the women would tell Sylvia the most personal, intimate details of their own experiences with criminals--some were near misses, but many were not.  One of our customers told Sylvia of how she was grabbed one day as she left a store--IN BROAD DAYLIGHT, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AFTERNOON--taken into a secluded area behind the store, and was assaulted and raped.

So Sylvia and I decided it would make sense to hook up with  THE  largest wholesale dropshipper of self defense products in the country, and offer these products to our customers.  And the response has been even better than we had hoped, and The Self Defense Guy was born.

And then out of the blue clear sky, Phoenix--the city we love, the city we would never think of moving from, the city where we met and fell in love and married in--started to be terrorized by two serial predators.  The good news is that both the Baseline Killer and the Serial Shooter are now the guests of the criminal justice system, and with any luck, they'll become permanent residents there. We say well done to the Phoenix Police Department and other valley police departments who also helped with the investigation.

Whether you live in Phoenix or not, the world has far too many Baseline Killers and Serial Shooters roaming free, looking to do you harm.  And with this recession we're in, there's a lot more people out there who think that they can solve their own problems by helping themselves to your wallet or your purse, and if they happen to hurt you or kill you in the process, well, they'll be sorry about it if they're caught, but they just didn't have any other choice.  DON'T let them get away with this.
